Encounter Dice: Proofs are Here!!
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jul 09, 2019 at 02:07:56 PM

We got the proof dice here today!!

We still need to go through every side of every dice and verify accuracy, spelling and ease of readability.  But we love them.

We already decided the black lettering on the blue elemental die will not work, and the same applies to the Blue dragon.  Those need to be white lettering.

I ran them through a dozen trials and they are so easy to use with the color coding.  We will get these proofed and the feedback to the manufacturers right away to begin production.

Until next time, happy Gaming!!  Ben

Encounter Dice: First Sample Images
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jun 18, 2019 at 07:31:23 PM

Our manufacturer got back to us today, and we wanted to pass on what they sent.

Turns out they had some issues with fitting the names on the dice, but they have worked all that out and are almost done with the sample set.

They did have several of different dice produced and sent a picture of what they have.

Can't wait to get these!!

Also don't miss out on my current Kickstarter. Only 2 days left.

Brutal Games is a fantastic adventure, with great art, cartography and writing. Don't miss out. Back us here.

Until next time,

Ben

Encounter Dice: New Kickstarter
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 02, 2019 at 02:18:44 PM

Right now we are still in the waiting game for the prototypes to show up.  But we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of our current Kickstarter Brutal Games

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/newcometgames/brutal-games-a-5e-adventure-in-the-world-of-darknoth

This is a great adventure written for D&D 5th edition and will be converted to 1st/2nd edition as well.

We are at 77% funded and don't need much to get us to the end.

Thanks,

Ben

Encounter Dice: Mid-May Update
almost 5 years ago – Sat, May 18, 2019 at 09:39:23 PM

We wanted to jump in and let you know what is going on.  First off, we had all the templates proofed, again by our staff and 3 of our backers. We found a couple typos and fixed the plural/singular issues.

We wanted to just put singles on everything, and yes Djinni is singular while Djinn is the plural.  It seemed odd to have a mix of some singular and some plural.  So whether it says a humanoid goblin or red dragon, it will be up to you to scale the encounter to fit your party.

We did make 1 change that went against the voting.  We wanted to go with a d12 for the Elementals, the problem was Salamander was too long for the d12 without making its font so much smaller than the others on the die.  So we flipped it to Efreeti (again singular), the final vote between the 2 was really close, so we made the change. We wanted to let you know. Feel free to treat Efreeti as Salamander if you wish.

The final templates have been completed and approved by the manufacturer.  We will hopefully get the prototypes by the end of June, if not sooner.

Once we get the prototypes, we will send out the Backerkit surveys, we want to make sure we get the weights, size etc.. exactly right so we don't overcharge or undercharge you for shipping costs.

Final counts were: 1 randomize d12, 8 encounter d12s and 4 encounter d10s. This gives us 136 unique different encounters to roll!!

  • Aquatic - d12
  • Demon - d10
  • Devil - d12
  • Dragon - d10
  • Elemental - d12
  • Exotic - d12
  • Fey - d12
  • Flyer - d10
  • Giants - d12
  • Humanoid - d10
  • PC Race - d12
  • Undead - d12

We will let you know once the proof set gets here, and send out pictures.  Until then, thank you so much for making this project so great!!

Encounter Dice: Almost Done
almost 5 years ago – Thu, May 09, 2019 at 03:41:07 PM

We have the drafts of all the dice complete and are waiting for Kickstarter to finalize the payment so we can get these ordered.

We ended up with 8 d12's and 4 d10s, for a total of 136 total random monsters you can get.  And of course the d12 random die generator.

We are looking for a couple backers to look through the templates for any misspellings or odd looking mistakes. We have looked at them so much, a couple fresh pair of eyes are needed.

Please let me know if you are interested in helping out, send me a message and I'll get you the templates to review.

Until next time,

Ben
